Donald H. Freimark, a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1967 and a securities principal since 1970, has over forty years of experience within the securities industry as an analyst and research director of institutional services.  Even prior to the founding of Freimark Blair & Co., Don’s career focus had a growing emphasis on international politics and economics.

 


Daniel Gardella, has been head of Global Trading at Freimark Blair since joining the firm in 2005. In addition to servicing a number of dedicated emerging market debt portfolio managers, he oversees all institutional debt and equity trading.

Prior to joining Freimark Blair & Co., Dan was employed by Prudential Securities/Wachovia for ten years as Deputy Head of Trading in emerging market debt. Prior to Prudential, he worked as a compliance examiner for NASD (now known as FINRA) and as an analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank of NY.   Dan graduated cum laude from Manhattan College in 1989 and has an M.B.A. from St. John’s University. He currently lives in Ramsey, New Jersey with his wife and two daughters and enjoys golf, skiing, and cycling.


Sandra Medeiros, is a Director of Fixed Income Trading where, since 2003, she has serviced a number of large, dedicated emerging market fund managers in the US, London, and Europe.  Before assuming her current role, Sandra was Head of Client Services at Trans-National Research. Prior to that, Sandra served as TNR’s Director of Latin America, where she collaborated with regional advisors on formulating clients’ Latam investment strategies.  Sandra graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in International Relations and a double minor in International Economics and French.  She is also a graduate of the Fletcher School at Tufts University, where she received a M.A. in Finance and Macro-Economics. Sandra has trekked the “Head Hunters Trail” in Borneo.


Steve Cossettini is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Senior Global Market Strategist on Freimark Blair & Co’s institutional desk, which he joined in 2013.   Steve leads the development of the firm’s overall macro-investment perspective and, through proprietary models, assesses the outlook for various global markets. Steve has over 10-years experience in multi-asset class recommendations, most recently as Head of Research at Kota Global Securities . A native Australian, Steve graduated from LaTrobe University with a degree in Economics and later received a postgraduate degree from the Financial Institute of Australia, where he specialized in advanced derivative trading strategies.   In his free time, Steve enjoys trying to construct quantitative models to use for his horse racing hobby.


David Hurtares, has been Director of Fixed Income trading since 2006, servicing a mix of clients including pension funds, mutual funds and crossover clients. His focus is primarily on emerging market bonds, but his previous experience as a market generalist and his close work with the research team at Trans-National Research help him concentrate on identifying relative value strategies, especially intra and inter curve swap opportunities.

Prior to joining Freimark Blair & Co, David was a Vice President of Sales and Trading at Investec Securities and Prudential Securities, both in NY, where he specialized in servicing Latin American institutions. David received his B.S. in Business Administration from St. John’s University in New York.  He has two children and is an active volunteer in Springfield, NJ, especially coaching youth football and basketball.


Anthony Armao, is currently Head of the Equity Trading Desk and has been involved in trading global markets for the past 13 years. Anthony has worked at Freimark Blair & Co. for a majority of his career, where he has formed and honed his abilities covering many facets of the trading universe from operations to trading to idea generation in developed, emerging and frontier markets. He has spent substantial time on all major equity markets, EM fixed income, and FX desks as he attempts to provide a global outlook for his accounts and cultivates a global network of brokers and advisors that have contributed on a liquidity, research or private placement perspective.

Prior to joining Freimark Blair & Co., Anthony graduated from Rutgers College with Finance and Mathematics degrees and spent time as a logistical analyst for a global exporter to Asia and the Middle East. He has served as VP of the Weimaraner Club of America, N.E. Chapter and spends some of his personal time as an advocate and fund raiser for the ALS Foundation.
